Somatic Coaching To Help You
Develop Soft Skills And A More Regulated Nervous System.
1:1 w/ Melissa
You know what supports your wellbeing, yet find yourself disconnected from it.
Personal guidance offers you clarity and strategies to better understand your body and your nervous system, and how it responds to things like stress, anxiety, chronic tension and pain, and processing "stuck" experiences. Through self-inquiry and experiential learning, you’ll create conditions for repair, resilience, and regulation.
Each session moves you below the surface into sensation, into pattern, into the parts of yourself that don't respond to logic. Instead of chasing transformation, we create conditions for it to emerge.
SLOW DOWN TO MOVE FORWARD
A NOTE FROM MEL
I’ve spent fifteen years spent learning to read what bodies don't say out loud. I’ve shared the tools I’m going to be sharing with you with organizations and communities globally - including Amazon, TED, Lululemon - and on the pages of ELLE Canada and 3 Magazine. What it comes down to is simple: I've sat across from thousands of people learning to trust their own signals again, and I know what that process actually requires.
Unlock What’s Buried
Within Your Nervous System
THIS IS FOR YOU IF
You've done the therapy, read the books, and still struggle with anxiety, anxious attachment, or self-abandonment
You carry stress physically: tight shoulders, migraines, TMJ, high blood pressure, Insomnia…
You’re high functioning/holding it together for everyone else, but feel a faint (or not so faint) hum of anxiety, stress, or agitation
You know you need to slow down but need strategies, tools, and structure to help you execute
THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF
You're looking for a quick or a single-session fix
You're in active mental health crisis and need clinical therapeutic support (I’m happy to point you toward the right resources
You want someone to tell you exactly what to do.
You're hoping to optimize every aspect of your life.
You're unable to commit time to reflection and practice between sessions.
What Makes Guidance w/ Melissa Different
I am a regulated nervous system in the room with yours.
Not just giving you instructions for calm, but a co-regulatory presence.
A trained eye on your tension spots.
I've spent fifteen years learning to see what people can't see
within their bodies and movement patterns
Working to build a bridge between noticing and changing.
Because insight without integration is just more information.
This is the part where what surfaced in the session
actually becomes the wisdom that shifts how you move through your life.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
I help high-functioning and overwhelmed humans master self-regulation with body-based strategies that support emotional health, meaningful relationships, and long-term growth.
Our sessions are therapeutic, but they are not therapy.
Therapists work with the past: processing trauma, diagnosing patterns, treating psychological conditions. It's important, necessary work. It's also primarily cognitive - rooted in how you think and what you remember.
What we do here is different. Our sessions are present-focused and body-first. I guide you toward awareness, self-regulation, and the kind of embodied skill-building that you carry into your actual life beyond your sessions.
A therapist helps you process the wound. I help you build the resources to become a regulated being.
WHEN TO EXPLORE PERSONAL GUIDANCE
You’re feeling burnout, exhausted (even after sleep), moving through major life transitions.
You don’t just want a stronger body, but one that can bend, reach, support, and carry you through life with ease and presence.
Your Oura rings tells you what needs your attention but you’re too overwhelmed or disconnected to take action.
Your workout routine has been on pause and you want to reconnect to your body in a mindful and aligned way.
You’re doing wellness, but not feeling well. You can sense that what’s missing is a practice not a product.
You carry stress from work, the mental load of raising children, or managing relationships/expectations.
The benefits of this work (that trial data and clinical/real-world studies report) when practiced consistently*:
Early (days/weeks in): better ability to notice bodily precursors to anxiety or shutdown before they escalate. Specifically, the skills of self regulation begin to teach the ability to shift out of sympathetic (fight/flight) dominance
Months in: reduced baseline reactivity — the same stressors provoke a smaller and shorter physiological spike. Better sleep, digestion, and mental clarity often follow as effects of a less chronically activated nervous system.
Consistent long-term practice: people frequently describe a rebuilt sense of trust in their own body — feeling less "at war" with physical tension, more capacity to stay present during conflict or stress rather than dissociating or flooding; ability to utilize tools to shift our of fight/flight in both trauma populations and general stress populations.
Additionally, symptoms of the following improve:chronic unexplained physical symptoms, IBS, tension headaches, some autoimmune-adjacent presentations and general pain
Anxiety and anxious attachment
overwhelm and burnout
Insomnia
high-functioning codependency
toxic relationships and narcissistic abuse recovery
grief and loss
self-trust, self-esteem and self worthiness
postpartum/post partum depression
perfectionism and people pleasing

Consistent practice is essential for lasting change. After our time together, you may choose to continue working together, or become a part of the Kunye community via workshops, memberships, live events or future retreats.
At the core of this work is body literacy: the practice of learning to read your own signals, rhythms, and needs. Not as a self-improvement project, but to build a different relationship with your body. One where you can hear what it's telling you, trust what you find, and choose from that wisdom rather than from depletion.

FAQs

-
No.
Private Guidance is not psychotherapy, counselling, or a mental health treatment. While our work may explore emotions, stress, and nervous system patterns, it is educational, experiential, and focused on developing practical skills for everyday life.
If you're currently working with a therapist, many clients find this work complements therapy beautifully by helping them integrate insight through embodied practice. This work does not resolve severe or complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, or major depression, as a stand-alone treatment. The strongest outcomes in the literature come from somatic work paired with, not replacing, established trauma therapies (EMDR, CPT, medication where indicated) when the presentation is severe.
-
Each session is tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Depending on what would be most supportive, we may incorporate nervous system education, somatic practices, breathwork, mindful movement, Pilates, guided myofascial release, meditation, reflective coaching, and personalized integration practices.
No two sessions are exactly alike.
-
Life happens and I understand that things come up. I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be subject to the full session fee. This policy ensures I can hold your spot consistently and continue to offer reliable care to all my clients.
The somatic groundwork intensive must be completed within 8 weeks.
