Slow Wellness Sessions

Slow The _____ Down, Together.

A guided space where your body gets to lead, your nervous system gets to settle, and you leave feeling something you didn't expect: yourself.

Slow Wellness Sessions are Kunye's in-person gatherings. Each one is intimate, body-based, and designed to give you tools you'll carry long after you leave the room.

CURRENT SERIES:

INNER UNWIND: THE FASCIAL RESET
FT. VIBE LOUNGE

A 2-hour somatic myofascial experience for the whole body.

This is a meditation in motion — a conversation between your body and the fascia that holds your story. Through slow, sustained pressure, intentional breathwork, and somatic awareness, you'll release deeply held tension patterns, restore fluid movement, and leave with a nervous system that remembers what ease feels like.

Perfect for: Anyone carrying chronic tension, desk workers, those new to bodywork, and anyone ready to stop managing their body and start listening to it. No experience necessary.

You'll leave feeling: — Lighter and more spacious through the body — Aware of tension patterns you didn't know you were holding — Deeply relaxed, with a calmer, more settled nervous system — Connected to your body in a new, more compassionate way

Location: Vibe Lounge, 111 1st St E B1, North Vancouver, BC (Enter through the back alley)

Investment: $50

What Makes Our Gatherings Special

  •  Melissa gives people tools they can use at home, but the guided experience creates depth you can't achieve alone.

  • Led by Melissa Nkomo and experienced guest guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose. Our leaders are trauma-informed, BIPOC, and deeply trained and studied.

  • We blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both focused and fluid. It's body-based healing for our times.

  • Melissa weaves together evidence based practices (SE, MFR) with ancient wisdom (mindful movement, breath work). Her knowledge and practice continues to evolve and expand.

  • Anyone can do it, but the depths you can explore are limitless. Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.

  • When people do this together in silence with shared intention, there's a collective nervous system regulation that happens, naturally.

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

What People Are Saying

“I assumed I was doing enough to manage tightness, but this class showed me how much tension I had been holding in my hips and legs. The combination of slow, intentional movements and targeted pressure using the tools allowed my muscles to release in a way that stretching alone never achieves. Melissa was knowledgeble and guided us through each step with a calming presence and breathe through the challenging moments. By the end I felt lighter, more mobile, and genuinely restored. It was an amazing experience!”

— Claudia, Vancouver

“Melissa provides a unique ball rolling experience, creating a mind and body connection that results in the participants gaining perspective and an understanding of how ball rolling can benefit areas of the body that are often overlooked during normal stretching or rolling routines. Especially valuable is the information she shares on body dynamics and physiology.”

— SUE J, VANCOUVER

“Melissa’s explanations were very clear and the structure made a lot of sense. She made sure we felt supported and provided one on one assistance as needed to ensure we used correct form. I had done some bodywork as part of physiotherapy but didn’t feel empowered or knowledgeable enough to do it on my own time, so this was really helpful. I’ve already highly recommended the workshop to my partner and friends as they are all active people who maybe need a bit more time spent on recovery and could use opportunities to slow down.”

WHO IS GUIDING YOU?

MEET MELISSA NKOMO

Melissa Nkomo is a former aesthetician turned somatic educator and mindfulness guide, writer, 2x founder, and facilitator. As the founder of Kunye, she has worked with over 20,000 seekers and landed collaborations with TED, Lululemon, and Amazon.

Community Care

According to this Harvard study, one key to living longer and happier is embracing community. But many of the spaces designed to foster wellness and connection lack representation, inclusivity, and accessibility. This can make the spaces feel not just unwelcoming, but actively invalidating of BIPOC experiences and the needs of diverse communities.
