We’re hiring mindfulness and movement guides

The Mindful Movement Guide position entails the following responsibilities. Please note that this is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may change and evolve based on the progression of employment.

We’re seeking Meditation and breath-work guides, group fitness instructors, Pilates instructors, Yoga teachers and Strength trainers for our new studio space in Vancouver BC, as well as online from anywhere across Canada.

Candidates should ideally have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Must possess a current Group Fitness Certification or a degree in a related field; 

  • If applying for Pilates teaching position, has valid mat and apparatus certifications; 

  • If applying for yoga teaching position, has completed minimum 200 hour YTT;

  • Has up to date teaching insurance; 

  • Have some prior experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline;

  •  Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certification;

  •  Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and exercise modifications for all populations; 

  • Must be passionate about mindful movement and overall wellness;

  • Trauma informed training, rehab/kinesiology/speciality designations and yoga therapy training, are encouraged but not necessary. 

Our Ask:

  • You deliver a mindful Kunye ‘Slow Wellness’ experience to our community members;

  • You mindfully lead in-person and/or virtual classes and sessions;

  • You must have an ability to demonstrate positions and movement, along with modifications and give clear and specific instructions (verbally and visually) throughout the duration of the session;

  • You adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary; 

  • You have great time management skills and are able to begin and end sessions on time;

  • You ensure health and safety regulations are always followed; 

  • Adapt teaching style to cater to people of varying backgrounds and abilities. 

The ideal candidate has:

  • A passion for physical and mental wellness; 

  • Values giving back to the community and helping others;

  • Does not promote weight loss, diet culture or anti-fat biases;

  • Completed and plans to continue anti-racism training.
